Hakob Arshakyan Participates in Future Innovation Summit

On May 11, the Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hakob Arshakyan participated in the Future Innovation Summit in Dubai at the invitation of Sheikh Saqer Bin Mohamed Al Qasimi. It is dedicated to the development of space technologies. Dr Garik Israelian, a world-famous astrophysicist, the creative director of the STARMUS Festival, and representatives of the business community attended the event.

The NA Vice President Hakob Arshakyan presented the Armenian tech ecosystem, the legislative field and the system of privileges in the sphere of space technologies.

He referred to the results of the largest tech companies in the world in different years. He assured that their activities have changed the way of development of the world economy and have laid the foundation of the 4th industrial revolution.

Hakob Arshakyan underlined the fact that the United Arab Emirates is making significant progress in the field of the latest technologies, especially in the aerospace sphere.

The NA Vice President attached importance to the effective use of new opportunities in terms of the international cooperation and added: “Armenia is a place, where you can find new opportunities.” Currently, there are about 27,000 IT specialists in Armenia, and this number is growing day by day. Taking into account the existing indicators, he noted that the turnover of the IT sector in Armenia will increase five times in 2030. According to the NA Vice President, there are enough opportunities and potential for the sustainable development of the sphere.

Hakob Arshakyan presented details about the activities of more than 2000 companies operating in our country. He noted that the indicators of the Armenian tech companies recorded in 2015-2021 have been growing continuously.

The NA Vice President invited those present to participate in the STARMUS VI Festival, which is the most famous international science festival, and it will take place in September 5-10 in Yerevan.
